The Bennett House is an updated and somewhat redesigned copy of the east coast home one of the owners grew up in as a child.? This house was built in 1993, using some of the key Energy Efficiency features of the time that are now standard considerations for green building.
- The house is framed using advanced framing techniques: 24” O.C. wall framing and insulated headers, and engineered lumber, resulting in less lumber used and higher insulation values.?
- The house exceeds code-required insulation levels:? The material was blown in to increase the volume and quality of the insulation.?
- We used an “air-tight drywall installation system” to reduce air infiltration and prevent heat loss.?
- A heat pump furnace system with air-to-air heat recovery capabilities improves energy performance.?
- All floors are wood or tile to reduce dust and chemical off-gassing, and to improve indoor air quality.? High performance windows were used throughout.
